Unique Moving and Storage is a professional moving company located in Oxnard, CA.  We service Ventura, Santa Barbara & Los Angeles counties.  We specialize in full service, packing, loading, unloading, on-site & piece moves.  We move customers from apartments, residential, office, warehouse, storages, containers and much more.

JOB POSITION: 

Movers, drivers, loaders, leads & helpers

**This is a physical position and working on the moving trucks

We will train the right candidate if you do not have moving experience.

We have many openings for advancement.

  • MOVER/ Helper: this is the starting position to help the team wrap the furniture, dolly out boxes and other misc things.

  • LOADER: know how to load a full 26ft moving truck with household goods.

  • DRIVER: with a valid California driver license, 27 years old or over with 5+ years of straight driving history to qualify with our insurance company. Also, with less than one moving violations in the last 36 months, and no major driving infractions. Current DMV printout is required at the time of the interview with your current California driver license.

  • JOB LEAD: main one to communicate with the customer, go over the contract and moving details, do a walk thru with the customer, the point person on the job, etc.

  • CREW LEAD: the leader of a big group of movers on a school/ corporate job.

DETAILS:

  • This is a part time on call job. There are no set schedules, no set end time and you only know what time to meet at our location to start the job.

  • In the moving industry there are no shifts. It depends when the customer needs to move, when they want to start and how long their job will take.

  • This job is NOT a standard 8a to 5p Monday to Friday job. Some jobs start later afternoon and some as early as 6am.

  • Schedules are sent out by text the afternoon of the day before.

  • A big plus of being a mover is that most customers tip the movers. That could add about $5 to $10 more per hour to your hourly pay.

EXPECTATIONS:

  • Communication with management

  • Need reliable transportation to our office in Oxnard when scheduled.

  • Available day, evenings and especially the weekends.

  • Able to lift, push, pull and carry 50 pounds regularly.

  • Able to go up and downstairs on a consistent basis.

  • Able to stand for long periods of time.

  • Show up 10 minutes before scheduled time and ready to work.

  • Provide excellent customer service via clear communication, professional demeanor and an upbeat, friendly attitude.

COMPENSATION:

The hourly rate starts at $17 per hour.

Valid Drivers start at $18 per hour.

Monthly and annual bonuses for job performance.

A BONUS of being a mover is that most customers tip the movers. That could add about $5 to $10 more per hour to your hourly pay.
